Gender & Sexuality Inclusion

The Graduate Extern for Gender & Sexuality Inclusion is responsible for the overall coordination of  Safe Zone and LGBTQIA focused programming.

This positions serves as an advocate for creating an inclusive space at Temple University for members of the LGBTQIA community and their allies.


GVGK Tang (Grace) is a public history MA student who specializes in transnational queer politics. Tang graduated summa cum laude from Temple in 2017 with a BA in history and sociology, and a minor in LGBT studies. At Temple, Tang has worked with students, faculty, and staff on screenings, panels, lectures, and field trips.

In the larger North Philadelphia community, Tang has coordinated town halls in collaboration with the Nicetown-Tioga Improvement Team, and served as a civics coordinator at local schools.

Tang has interned at the John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives at the William Way LGBT Community Center, and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. Tang has also presented work at the National Council on Public History and Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival conferences.
