ABOUT THE GENDER AND SEXUALITY INCLUSION GRAD EXTERN

The Graduate Extern of Gender and Sexuality Inclusion is a role within IDEAL designated to oversee LGBTQIA+ programming, dialogues and advocacy. This position support services that are offered throughout the academic year to staff, faculty, and students. Students is the main population for which the successful candidate will engage. 

This position will work to create, update, implement, and market inclusive programming, speaker series, and dialogues to the Temple University Community. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Enrolled in a graduate level program at Temple University 
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA 
  • Have no outstanding or unresolved student conduct violations with the university 
  • Good academic and financial standing and full completion of application 
  • Submit a coverletter and resume detailing your experience and work with the LGBTQIA+ community as well oversight of implementing programs and collaborative iniatives.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supervise the gender and sexuality and inclusion intern
  • Order supplies and marketing materials as needed
  • Serve as the logistical chair for the National Coming Out Week Committee
  • Plan and implement the annual Lavendar Graduation cermonies for graduating seniors 
  • Provide assessment of programs and dialogues to Director of Student Engagement 
  • Attend departmental and Safe Zone traiings as needed 
  • Provide updates and oversight to all LGBTQIA+ focused presentations 
  • Work alongside Safe Zone Graduate Coordinator 

RENUMERATION 

  • This position is paid a monthly stipend of $2,000 at 20 hours per week. This position additionally includes health benefits but NOT tuition remission benefits. All questions can be directed to nprad@temple.edu 

 

ABOUT THE SAFE ZONE GRADUATE COORDINATOR

The Safe Zone Graduate Coordinator is a role within IDEAL designated to oversee LGBTQIA+ educational training and advocacy. Safe Zone is a 5 hour advocacy certification program that is offered throughout the academic year to staff, faculty, and students. 

This position will work to create, update, implement, and market the Safe Zone and Safe Space program to the Temple University Community. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Enrolled in a graduate level program at Temple University 
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA 
  • Have no outstanding or unresolved student conduct violations with the university 
  • Good academic and financial standing and full completion of application 
  • Submit a coverletter and resume detailing your experience and work with the LGBTQIA+ community as well oversight of managing curriculums 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with DestinyOne database to schedule tranings 
  • Serve as a liaison between Safe Zone facilitators and IDEAL 
  • Evaluate Safe Zone curriculum outcomes 
  • Order supplies as needed (placards, notepads, etc) 
  • Provide assessment of trainings to Director of Student Engagement 
  • Attend departmental and Safe Zone traiings as needed 
  • Provide updates and oversight to all Safe Zone presentations 
  • Work alongside Graduate Extern for Gender and Sexuality Inclusion 

RENUMERATION 

  • This position is paid $13.00 per hour at 15-18 hours per week. This position DOES NOT include health benefits or tuition remission benefits. All questions can be directed to nprad@temple.edu
