Q: Who can participate in the cultural ceremonies?
A: All matriculated students graduating from Temple University during the current academic year in which the ceremony is offered are eligible to participate.

Q: Do I have to wear my ceremonial regalia (cap, gown, and hood) during the ceremonies?
A: Yes. All students are required to wear their full graduation regalia, which must be ordered and picked up through the bookstore. Students are responsible for purchasing their own regalia.

Q: Is there a cost for the stole or cord provided at the Lavender or Rites of Passage Ceremony?
A: No. The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership provides stoles and cords at no cost to students participating in the in-person ceremonies.

Q: I cannot attend the ceremony. Can I still receive my stole or cord before or after the event?
A: Unfortunately, stoles and cords are limited and will only be distributed during the ceremonies. Attendance is required to receive these items.

Q: Where should I report on the day of the ceremony?
A:

• Rites of Passage participants should report to the lobby of the Tuttleman Learning Center to join the campus procession.

• Lavender Ceremony participants should report directly to Mitten Hall's Great Court.

Q: Can my family attend the ceremonies?
A: Yes! Students are encouraged to invite family, friends, and loved ones. Please be sure to indicate your guest count when completing the ceremony registration form.
