Graduate Assistants

Reporting to the Senior Director of Student Engagement, Graduate Assistants commit to 15 hours per week onsite and receive bi-weekly pay. They collaborate with interns or diversity peer educators in their respective content areas. IDEAL offers two types of graduate roles: Gender and Sexuality Inclusion and Student Engagement & Belonging.

Diversity Peer Educators

Diversity Peer Educators, as volunteer student leaders within the Office of IDEAL, collaborate with the Senior Director of Student Engagement. Their role involves advocating, facilitating dialogues, and developing programming to promote inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging.

IDEAL Lead Fellows

IDEAL will introduce a new student leadership position, Lead Fellows, in Fall 2026 to support the Inclusive Fellows Initiative.

Through this initiative, Lead Fellows will mentor first-year students who self-identify as coming from historically marginalized identities. The mentorship will take place during the first eight weeks of the fall semester and is designed to help students acclimate to campus, build community, and access key resources.

Office Assistants

Office Assistants play a critical role in IDEAL by supporting the Executive Assistant in various tasks, including maintaining front desk operations, managing inventories, handling reservations, reviewing workshop submissions, and serving as the initial point of contact for visitors entering the office space.

IDEAL Internships

IDEAL provides paid internships to develop comprehensive diversity and inclusion initiatives at Temple University. Interns commit to 10-15 hours per week and can earn academic credit. Our office offers internships in various content areas, including social media, content writing, graphic design, gender and sexuality inclusion and student engagement.
