Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership hosts the Rite of Passage Ceremony, an annual event recognizing the contributions and accomplishments of Afro-identifying graduating seniors at Temple University. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and assist in celebrating the contributions of our graduates.
This intimate afternoon event allows students, faculty, staff and alumni who are Afro-identifying, to connect one last time before graduation and summer break. During this timeframe, IDEAL will also recognize 2-3 staff/faculty members for their outstanding work and contributions to the Afro-identifying community.
Applications are generally available during the Fall semester. Complete the nomination application, either by self-nominating OR being nominated by someone. Once submitted, the Rite of Passage facilitators will contact nominees with commencement dates.
