IDEAL offers three graduate extern roles focusing on gender and sexuality inclusion, student belonging, and interfaith inclusion. Interested candidates must submit a completed application (button below) for each position listed.

Gender & Sexuality Inclusion, Extern
The Gender and Sexuality Inclusion graduate externship at IDEAL supervises 2-3 interns and oversees programming supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and executing projects to increase visibility and support for gender and sexuality through an intersectional lens.
The ideal candidate will comprehensively understand promoting inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Supervision of 1-2 gender and sexuality inclusion interns
Oversight of the Safe Zone advocacy program
Maintain Safe Zone facilitator’s training
Maintain gender and sexuality canvas group and files
Keep all information for Temple University up to date on the Campus Pride Index
Curriculum design for gender and sexuality inclusive workshops
Serve in a leadership capacity with the National Coming Out Week committee
Collaborate with Director of Student Engagement campus wide LGBTQIA+ issues and the Pride Professional Network affinity group
Serve as a facilitator on social justice themed workshops and programs
Maintain and update IDEAL’s Pride Guide as needed
Provide feedback on curriculum and program concepts created by interns
Attend area meetings and host 1:1s for supervisees
Compile semesterly reports and assessments on LGBTQIA+ programming
Manage all room reservations and catering for LGBTQIA+ focused events
Oversight of the Queer Lunch dialogues, OuTU and Lavender Ceremony
Serve as a resource to LGBTQIA+ focused student organizations
Assign all projects to interns using the designated project management system
Maintain a repository of files in the designated area
Create reasonable deadlines the completion of design projects by interns
Actively provide feedback on GSI tasks through the project management system
Actively track intern’s progress on projects
Respond to LGBTQIA+ focused workshops and presentations
Candidates must be enrolled in a Temple University graduate or professional program
Completion of the Safe Zone certification (can occur after hiring)
Fall and spring engagement training
Ability to navigate, review and create presentations
Candidate should not have any unresolved student conduct violations
Strong written and communication skills
Professional or academic experience with gender and sexuality inclusion, intersectionality, and social justice concepts
Ability to foster and facilitate dialogue
Project management
Background in diversity, equity, inclusion
This position provides a 12-month appointment with a monthly stipend of $2,300, along with medical benefits.
