Every school and college, every office and organization of the university has responsibility for equal opportunity and affirmative action at Temple. EOC supports the university efforts with information, assistance and complaint resolution.
- EOC files reports with the government agencies that monitor compliance with federal, state and city nondiscrimination law.
- EOC publishes internal reports to inform university administrators’ equal opportunity practices and initiatives.

Ask EOC. Consulting at the outset helps prevent discrimination and assure compliance in decision-making.
EOC investigates complaints of unlawful discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation based on protected characteristics/statuses, including the following.
- Gender identity
- Genetic information
- Maritial status
- National or ethnic origin
- Sex (including pregnancy)
- Sexual orientation
- Veteran status
Equal Opportunity Ombudspersons are available to students, faculty and staff to hear and help resolve informal complaints. See the list of EO Ombudspersons.
If a complaint of discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation cannot be resolved informally, EOC will conduct a formal investigation.
